We The People ... Do Not Fund Businesses

Recently the Tim Bridgewater “Taxpayer Funded” business model has come to light, Prior to the Utah State Republican Convention I was not sure about the three Candidates. I was pleased that any of the three would be a solid true Conservative that believed in the constitution and not being apart of the Washington assault on the taxpayers, My mind has been changed in the last month…

Tim Bridgewater’s Business Experience

April 28

… Raser Technologies – Bridgewater and Interlink recently helped Raser Technologies obtain US Government grant money to the tune of $1 million. Back in February of this year, Raser received approval for a $32 million grant from the US Treasury.

Interlink Capital Strategies – Tim Bridgewater is the chairman and managing partner of this Washington, DC based consulting firm.  Interlink helps clients “access numerous government lending programs” and in some cases government grants.

Ignite! Learning – Bridgewater was the co-founder of this company alongside Neil Bush (George W’s brother).  The company has made millions from No Child Left Behind and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Obama stimulus).

Again Mr. Bridgewater is basically a lobbyist whose business career was built on government backed loans and government grants.

Gap between candidate’s campaign rhetoric and actions?

Salt Lake Tribune

“I don’t personally like it when government is picking winners and losers and if I’m elected as a senator, I’m going to go back and make sure government pulls in a different direction,” he said. “My business is to help companies take advantage of whatever low-cost financing is out there.”

Bridgewater is a consultant for Raser Technologies, a Utah-based alternative energy company that is developing geothermal power and electric cars. The company has received $33 million in stimulus dollars for a Utah power project and is seeking another $22 million from the stimulus package.

And Raser has requested an $11.3 million earmark from Sen. Bob Bennett — whom Bridgewater is seeking to defeat — to help expand the use of the electric cars.

Bridgewater says he wasn’t involved in getting any stimulus funding for Raser projects or the earmark request.

Bridgewater has said the companies he works with would be “foolish” not to take advantage of the low-cost capital available from the government.

“The difference is I’m out in the business arena creating jobs, building jobs, helping businesses to grow and no other candidate in this race is doing that,” he said.

Tim Bridgewater’s Business Experience Not Very Convincing

May 26

…What capital is it that our government has available exactly.  Last I checked, we are running a $13 trillion dollar deficit.  Debt and capital are two very different things.  The low-cost capital offered by the government is subsidized by not-so-low-cost loans that the taxpayers will have to pay for either through taxes or inflation.

Thus the Deficit Consulting being paid millions of dollars to fund business from the backs of the hardworking tax payers is the problem. The Tea Parties are running incumbents out of Washington, with voter imposed term limits, why Utah would we put anther lobbyist in the position to continue to loot the treasury?

Yes we have to many attorneys,  What we lack is a Constitution Attorney, someone like Mike Lee, who has not changed his position, their is proof that he walks his talk and does not sway from his principles of smaller government, great liberty to Utah and the rest of the country

Tim Bridgewater Is Not What He Seems

June 9

...I proceeded to ask him if he thought it was appropriate for the Federal Government to tax private citizens, and subsequently re-allocate tax money to private businesses the government wanted to succeed. He immediately dodged the question, and immediately said “Next Question.”. I wasn’t being disingenuous, I really wanted to know what his position was, and if he was really the fiscal conservative he purports to be.

It was instantly apparent that Tim wasn’t being completely honest, and that he was saying one thing while thinking and doing another…

Mr. Bridgewater is basically a lobbyist whose business career was built on government backed loans and government grants.

Tim Bridgewater: Indonesian Job Creator

June 10

…Along the way, Bridgewater has been creating jobs, just not for Utahans — for Indonesians.

Bridgewater secured a federal grant for $1,000,000.00 for an Indonesian power company to study geothermal power at a place called Tangkuban Perahu.

Has Tim Bridgewater’s Company Helped Fund a Suspected Drug Trafficker’s Businesses?

June 15

By now it’s a well known and established fact that Utah Senate candidate Tim Bridgewater isn’t exactly the traditional small business man that he wants Utah voters to believe; rather, he’s a lobbyist who specializes in getting taxpayer money for his own and for his clients’ businesses – including overseas businesses like Indonesia Power.

A real estate company headed by the son of former Arizona Gov. J. Fife Symington III received a $3 million loan from a federal agency and a financial firm with strong Republican ties to buy land in Mexico for low-income housing.

The loan to Fife Symington IV’s real estate company is part of a joint effort between the federal Overseas Private Investment Corp. and Interlink Capital Strategies.

Interlink is a private foreign investment firm with ties to the Bush administration and the Republican Party. Interlink has been teaming with OPIC since 2004 on loans to U.S. businesses investing in developing foreign markets.

One of Interlink’s co-founders was Neil Bush, brother of President George W. Bush.

Bush no longer is with Interlink, but its executive roster does include Tim Bridgewater, a big donor to the GOP and Bush presidential campaigns, as well as veterans of Republican presidential administrations. Interlink also has interests in China, Russia and Iraq.

An Inconvenient Truth: Bob Bennett and Tim Bridgewater Together

June 16

Tim BridgetoNowhereWater is lying — not misrepresenting, not distorting, just flat out lying — about his record. So it is no wonder he is lying about participating in this mail piece. More and more it looks like not only is Bridgewater connected, but so is Bob Bennett.

And the web is all connected through a guy named Tim Stewart.

Tim Stewart is a former Bob Bennett staffer. He has now aligned himself with Tim Bridgewater.

The Real Dilemma for Tim Bridgewater:

Tim Bridgewater has made a career out of distributing taxpayer money out of the country, is this not the very problem we are having in Washington? Is Tim Bridgewater going to stand up for Utah taxpayers when we need an advocate in the Senate to denounce foreign aid, corporate welfare and pet projects? It appears not.
